After navigating through an epic process to get here, we’ve reached a major milestone in the journey to bring the Pre-Code Horror Authentic Editions into your hands.
✅ What You Need to Do:
Everyone should have received their BackerKit survey as of today. It’s very important that you complete your survey as quickly as possible—this is how we will collect your final shipping information and begin the fulfillment process.
🎉 So far, 45% of surveys have been completed—congrats and thank you to everyone who’s responded already!
The faster we receive your responses, the faster we can move toward the printing and shipping stages of this incredible collection.

📦 Pre-Code Horror Fulfillment Update: Progress, Challenges, and What’s Next! 📦

Dear Backers,
We’re back with another update as we continue working hard to deliver the Pre-Code Horror Authentic Editions to your doorstep. Here’s where things stand this week:
✅ Step We Just Completed:
Good news! We’ve officially received the final weights and dimensions for all the books in the collection from our printer. This was the last critical piece we needed to calculate exact shipping costs.
We delivered that information to Bulu, our shipping and fulfillment partner, and they’ve now provided their final shipping specs—the very last piece required to launch BackerKit surveys.
We are now in the process of importing all this data into BackerKit. What we hadn’t realized is that once we submit the surveys, BackerKit must approve them before they can be sent out. This isn’t something we can trigger ourselves, but it’s the final step before surveys hit your inbox.
We’re working through the weekend to finish this, and barring any unexpected issues, surveys should be going out by Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
🔧 The Challenge We’re Facing Now:
With the shipping logistics squared away, our current focus is on finishing the production files for the full collection.

The Frightening 15 is expected to go to print in about a week.
- The rest of the books are close behind and moving steadily toward completion.
Our biggest challenge now is managing all the moving parts across the printing and fulfillment process to ensure everything stays on track.
We will also share a dedicated update next week with more details on expected delivery timelines, but as of now, we are expecting that shipments will begin in early February.
🚀 The Next Stage We’re Entering:
Once BackerKit surveys are approved and sent out, here’s what happens next:

Surveys Go Live: You’ll confirm your shipping details and have the option to add more items to your order.

Final Files Sent to Print: We will finalize and submit the production files for all books and box sets.

Printing & Fulfillment: Once printed, everything will be sent to Bulu for careful packing and shipping.
And on another exciting note, the Archie Authentic Editions campaign officially closed successfully while still accepting late pledges for a short bit! Thank you to everyone who joined us for that adventure too.

📚 Pre-Code Horror Fulfillment Update: Progress, Challenges, and What’s Next! 📚

Dear Backers,
We’re back with a detailed update on where we are in the fulfillment process, what we’re working through right now, and what’s coming next. We want to continue being as transparent as possible and invite you behind the curtain as we bring the Pre-Code Horror Authentic Editions to life!
✅ Step We Just Completed:
We’re excited to share that we have officially received all the final book weights for every issue in the collection from our printer! This critical information allows our shipping and fulfillment partner, Bulu, to calculate accurate shipping costs for every backer.
This was the final piece of information we needed to move forward with BackerKit surveys. We’ve now delivered this data to Bulu, and we expect to receive the final shipping rates very soon—hopefully by Monday. Once we input this into BackerKit, surveys will finally go out to all of you to confirm shipping details and lock in your orders.
🔧 The Step We're Currently In:
While waiting on shipping info, we’ve been hard at work improving the quality of the collection. The silver lining to this delay is that we discovered a much better production process for delivering an even higher-quality product. The test book we've sent to the printer has produced astounding results—the colors, textures, and details are even more true to the original comics than before.
However, the downside is that around 30% of the collection, which was previously ready for print, is now being redone to meet this improved standard. This creates an additional delay, but we are confident the leap in quality will be well worth it.
We also want to bring you along on this journey. Starting next week, we’ll share weekly sneak peeks of pages, stories, and behind-the-scenes insights into how we’re restoring these comics from the original scans. Plus, you’ll receive weekly progress updates to keep you fully informed every step of the way.
🚀 The Next Stage We’re Entering:
Once we finalize the last of the book files, they’ll be sent off to the printer. From there:
1. Printing Begins: We expect the Frightening 15 to go to press by the end of next week.
2. Shipping Materials: Our specialty paper—chosen to replicate the original look and feel of these comics—is on the way. However, due to weather issues and a strike in Canada, there have been minor delays in the paper’s delivery. We’re keeping a close eye on this, but we still expect it to arrive in time to stay on track.
3. Fulfillment Prep: Once printed, books will be shipped to our fulfillment partner, where they will be carefully packed and shipped out to you!
We will continue to provide weekly updates and let you know immediately if any challenges or changes impacting the timeline.
